The research collaboration as a methodological tool to educate teachers in the undergraduate level
Abstract
This paper presents a research collaboration carried out as part of the curriculum activities of the Pedagogy undergraduate course. As a theoretical approach, the history of the teacher’s education was recaptured, also discussing the relevance of research in this process. The collaboration initiative experienced by two undergraduate students was registered, in the context of two different research projects, for their respective undergraduation dissertations. The collaboration happened within the field activities of both researches: an interview occurring in two meetings, and also workshops occurring in four meetings. A teacher was interviewed and children attended workshops, both at public schools. The text details the methodology adopted. The authors’ analytical look over the research resulted on a discussion on the role played by research on the training of teachers, revealing also the necessity to perceive teachers and undergraduate pedagogy students as researchers. The collaboration demonstrated by the undergraduate students reflected the experience in research capacitation, which resulted in the development of new methodological perspectives, exercising the external view over the school as well as building collective experiences by researchers.
