Dívida política, educação popular e republicanismo

Abstract

O artigo principia mostrando as vertentes românticas e racionalistas que confluiram para a chamada ‘educação popular’, onde duas noções distintas de “povo” disputavam um espaço ao mesmo tempo político e pedagógico. Defenderemos a idéia de que o projeto republicano, herdeiro da primeira vertente, é inacabado e, em seguida, procuramos desenvolver algumas noções de “competência” ligadas à Educação Popular, insistindo em seus aspectos argumentativos, propositivos, decisórios e auto-interrogativos. Conclui mostrando que a exclusão não é só a não participação nos benefícios de uma sociedade moderna, mas a impotência lingüística para pronunciar a sua própria exclusão. Palavras-chave: Competência, Dívida Política, Educação Popular Abstract Political debt, popular education and republicanism This article at first deals with the Romantic and the racionalist trends that converged into the field of popular education, where two distinct notions of people fought both for a political and pedagogical space. We argue here that the Republican project , heir of the first trend, is incomplete. Moreover, we try to develop some notions of ‘competence’ associated to popular education by emphasizing their argumentative, propositional, decisive and self critical aspects. We conclude by pointing out that educational exclusion means not only being deprived from the welfare allowed by modern society, but linguistic inability to utter one´s own exclusion.
