The journal Revista Brasileira de Estudos Pedagógicos (RBEP) was created in 1944 and is published every four months both electronically and in paper by the National Institute for Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep).
The Journal’s publishing, as of 2023, will be available continuously and exclusively in electronic format.
RBEP publishes articles that are original or previously made available as preprints, resulting from research that offers consistent, rigorous and original approaches and contributes to the development of Educational knowledge. RBEP publishes experience reports and book reviews as well. This Publication declines articles under review in other publications likewise those that do not comply with ethical principles for research. RBEP’s audience comprises of professors, researchers, and undergraduate and graduate students, as well as managers and technicians in the field of Education.
RBEP is a fully open access publication. No fee is charged for the download of individual articles or complete editions. No fees are charged for the submission, processing, or publication of articles

RBEP has the following sections:
Studies – articles derived from empirical and theoretical research whose aims are clearly defined and whose theoretical and methodological bases substantiate the discussion proposed, considering that:
a) Empirical research should specify research procedures, criteria for selecting subjects and for sampling, methods for collecting, constructing and analyzing data.
b) Theoretical research should be original and approach issues that are relevant to the field of Education.
Experience Reports – articles about innovative projects on pedagogical intervention in the field of Education, which show critical and reflective analysis of processes and findings and are context-sensitive and methodologically grounded.
Reviews – a critical analysis of books or movies on Education released in the last three years. It should have a title, references, information on the authors/coordinators of the publication, an abstract and the reviewer’s analytical positioning on the contributions the work brings to the field.
